Typhoon 21, Sept. 4, 2018

We were directly hit by Typhoon or Jebi today.  About 10:30 am the rain started slowly and picked up as time passed.  In our area the creeks were nearly overflowing.  Rice fields did overflow into the lower levels.  Everything was very soggy when the rain finally stopped about 5:00 pm.  Other areas in Kansai were hit hard.  There were videos of tile blowing off roofs and heading into apartments; trucks and cars were toppled over, one on a bridge.  A large tanker ship collided with the over-water bridge that connects the mainland with Kansai International Airport. There were reports of 3,000 people stranded there and seven people lost their lives.  It was the worst storm since 1993 they said.  These are photos from our immediate area:
