The Quilt and Sew Studio in Katy is a bright, colorful store.  We collected the Row by Row pattern, plus a new pattern for a wall cross and fabric by Moda called Celeste.

We saw the San Jacinto Battlefield Park and the Battleship Texas, along with Sara and Teresa.  http://www.sanjacinto-museum.org

Lunch was at a seafood restaurant on site.  Sara had huge chicken fingers and Teresa had  huge burger.  Henry and I ate delicious soup.

On the Battleship Texas, Henry got to site and move one of the guns.  This ship was built in WWI and refurbished for WWII and saw battles in both oceans.

At the bow of the ship.

Some of the silver used by the Captain and officers.

God Bless the USA
These birds were eating french fries tossed to them at a parking lot.  They would not even move when a car was trying to get them to move.  Henry went and chased them away so the car could pass, then they came back immediately. So funny.

BIMI Headquarters, Harrison, TN.  We left here on Wednesday to travel to Mississippi.  Here are some of what we saw.  :-)

In the Making Quilt Shop in Birmingham, AL, we stopped here to collect a pattern, but they didn't have the license plate.   This shop also specializes in yarns of all types.  http://www.shopinthemaking.com/

We stopped at Sew Delightful in Tuscaloosa, AL, and got the pattern and license plate.  http://www.sewdelightful.net/

This is the Welcome Center when we entered Mississippi, the land of my nativity.  It was in 1954 I was born at Keesler, AFB, in Biloxi.  This was one of the most beautiful welcome centers we have seen.

We are at our Mission's HQ in Harrison, Tennessee.  We were able to participate in the morning staff prayer meeting and meet many of the people who work at the home office.  These people are really servants of God.  We also gave a report to the directors there about the work in Japan.  And we were given our 25 year BIMI pin.  The time has gone so quickly.

I like the painted vans and trucks.  This is from a local TV station.
Chick-fil-A was our lunch stop.  Love the car!
Our chicken lunches.  I had the salad and a bowl of wonderful, thick, chunky chicken soup.
This sign was on the kid's playground area.

The car was in the kids' playground area.  The license plate says Moov Ovr
Sara with a Chick-fil-A toy cow.  The manager Mr. Kendrick got to talking to us and learned we are missionaries in Japan.  We gave him one of our prayer cards and says he and his Sunday School class will be praying for us.  He also mentioned one of his granddaughters will be heading to college with an eye on full-time Christian service.  Praise the Lord for people who desire to serve God.

We stopped in to the Spool Quilt Shop for the Row by Row pattern and plate.  It was a bit unusual, but lots of stuff to choose from and a friendly staff.
When we drove back to the Mission, these deer were waiting for us at the end of the parking lot.  They did not run away but stood still for a photo shoot.  Looks like to mothers and their fawns.

I love American Flags and I love America.
We ate at Wendy's for the first time.  There is a challenge going on. If you photograph yourself completing a heart symbol on your drink cup and post it, they will donate $5 to their adoption charity.
I also like Coca Cola and the colorful trucks.
Near Covington, GA, we stopped in at Patrick's Feed store which also happens to have a quilt shop run by Patrick's wife.  She likes to say she has a quilt shop that is also a feed store.
:-)  Patrick said his wife did most of the quilts hanging around the store and also the long arm quilting.  Really beautiful work.

I was able to get a Row by Row pattern and a license plate here.

The view from the entrance.
More colorful quilts.
