August 28, 2015 MN, Wisconsin

Outside of the hotel at which we stayed in Fargo was this big patchwork buffalo.
We stopped in at the Bay Window Quilt Shop in Perham, Minnesota.  Beautiful store with lots of ideas and inspiration.

Not sure if this is a water tower or just something that looks like a castle.

Note the cutting edge shop sign  :-)
We went to Bayfield right on Lake Superior to visit Henry's sister Penny and Paul.  They are managers of a B&B.  We spent a few hours with them and she cooked fresh-caught white fish--yummy.

One of the resident cats.

August 26-27, 2015 MO, NE, SD, and ND

This shop is in Camdenton, Mo.  I got a pattern but they did not have a license plate, so on to the next place just up the road.
This is the City's Edge Quilt Shop in Warsaw, MO where I got a pattern and a license plate.   It's a small shop with great fabrics and patterns.

We passed through the home of Tate Stevens, whomever that may be.  He is famous enough to get his name on a water tower.
An interesting bridge--looks like an illusion of some kind.

One of my favorite billboards.
Pastor Bentley's son and family took us to this restaurant--really good food.  If you are in Omaha, you need to try it.
Henry speaking at Midwestern Baptist Church. They have supported us about 25 years.  Thursday morning Henry spoke to the kids in the Christian day school.
On Thursday we drove up to North Dakota to visit my Uncle and Aunt I have not seen in many years.
Stopped at this shop in Fargo, ND, for a pattern and license plate.  Another beautiful quilt shop as you can see from the next two pictures.

This is in Moorehead, MN across the river from Fargo.  Got a pattern here.

Seated: Aunt Dee, me and Uncle Francis, Sara and Henry standing.

They showed us how to play a couple of card games which they play regularly with the other people at their retirement home.
My Uncle is 83 and Aunt Dee is about that age.  Married 38 years with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He is the last surviving member of my mom's family.

August 24-25, 2015; TX, Missouri

We stopped in Lebanon, MO, to visit the Finley's who are friends of ours from the 1980's.  Wayne had to go to Arkansas to see his sister who was ill.  We went to Springfield, MO, and met the
Schenck's, also friends from Independent. He is retired military and now does contract.  She works as a secretary.  They have some grandkids.  It was good see them after so many years.

August 24, 2015, TX, OK, MO

We reluctantly left Teresa in Houston and headed to Missouri to visit friends.  It was nearly a 12 hour trip and we arrived about 10:00 pm.  Along the way we saw many sights and just enjoyed what America is.  BTW, Happy Birthday, Matthew!

This is William Shakespeare.  He is an unusual house cat of the man with whom we stayed while in Houston/Katy, Texas. He had a thing for rubbing Henry's shoes and here Henry is scratching his back with a broom, apparently a favorite thing to do.

The  original female members of the Ward family with Henry.
Going through Dallas about noon on Monday.  There's five levels of traffic seen here.

Along this and many elevated roads in TX, all the pillars had a Lone Star.
Fabric Fanatics   http://www.fabricfanatics.com in Plano, TX, specializes in batiks and Judy Neimeyer patterns.  http://www.quiltworx.com  Beautiful quilts and fabrics.

The Missouri Welcome Center had this wall with license plates.  Really interesting.

Wide open spaces as far as the eye can see.

Teresa (in front of the door) plays the cello in the orchestra.
Little Abigail and baby brother Jason are happy to be in church.
Teresa played the offertory hymn.
