September 5, 2015 Wedding Day

These are some highlights of wedding day.  I'll post more on Flicker when we get back to Japan

Emberlynn shows off her first-time painted nails.

Hope does her sister's hair.

The guys rented their entire outfit, including shiny shoes.  They got to keep the socks.
Me and my guys--I love you all!
Grandma prays with her granddaughter.

Pastor Setser from Florida performed the ceremony because Jewel's Dad said he probably could not.  Here he helps Peter with the lapel flower.

Peter surprised everyone by kissing Jewel for the first time, using the dip method.  He practiced with Sara so he would not drop his new bride.  Just barely got the shot, it happened so fast.

These are my terrific young ladies and men.  Does mom proud, guys!
The photographer staged this photo--the little kids hide their eyes as Peter and Jewel kiss....so cute!

September 4, 2015, Wedding Rehearsal

The auditorium was a fluff of tulle everywhere and really looked great.  Ribbons were everywhere, too.
Peter was getting down with the three-year-old flower girl Emberlynn.

The Maid of Honor is Jewel's older sister.

Caleb the Ring Bearer was alway serious.
The Groomsmen: Matthew, Buddy, Joe, David and Stephen
The Bridesmaids: Kortnie,  Maryann, Christin, Kristy, Hope and Emberlynn
Teresa, to my surprise, played the prelude along with Br. Alley from Denver at the Piano--Canon in D.

The little kids steal the show everytime!

Here's Pastor showing the Flower Girl how to toss the petals
Of course, there has to be the after-rehearsal selfie!
Rehearsal dinner was simply pizza, salad, watermelon and brownies.

My guys again with Jewel.
Teresa's gift was a pencil drawing of Peter and Jewel.

September 1-3, 2015 Wedding Prep Days

Tuesday I spent several hours hemming, then pleating a very long piece of cloth that will cover the platform at the reception being held at camp.

Wednesday we went to North Platte Baptist Church and these three siblings wanted their photo taken.
Peter cut the hair of his Ring Bearer named Caleb.  This was Thursday.
Yards and Yards of tulle were spread across the auditorium.  Below, Joe added some extra tulle to fill in gaps.

The Ward ladies, added tulle to the side of the cake table.  Here are Teresa, Sara and Christin sitting and the future Mrs. Jewel Ward
Thursday afternoon we moved to the camp tent where the reception will be.  My guys pitched in and were great in helping set up.
The meal will be chicken with veggies that are baked in the camp kitchen.
The ceiling was decorated with paper flowers tied on to ribbon.
Several ladies spent a couple of hours separating tissue paper flowers.  There's the bride's grandma helping out.

We went to the Reeve's house for dinner with the two families and the bridal party.  Afterwards, I presented Jewel and Peter with the wedding quilt I made.  Georgie Culley in Virginia did the quilting and it is really amazing.  They both loved it, as did everyone.  The blue side pattern is called Celebration and the backside is my traditional Christmas sampler

August 31, 2015 from MO to NE

Today we stopped at the Meadows Quilting and Sewing Shop in Leavenworth, KS, then on to Nebraska.

Henry wanted to stop at this Lewis and Clark museum when we got into Nebraska.  Lots of interesting info and stuff animals.

This is a replica of the interior of a round mound house.  In the center is the fire pit.  Must have been rather cold in winter, stuffy in summer and full of bugs, me thinks.

A replica of one of the boats Lewis and Clark used.
What is this farm equipment?
A water tower that looks like a hot air balloon in York, NE
We arrived at Peter's place about 5:30 pm.  It will be a busy week.
