Morning fog in Ono

This fog was all over the Ono area where we live early in the morning--before 9:00 AM.  It was really beautiful.   As we drove past the rice fields you could see the mist rising from the ground--really awesome.

Granddaughter #5 is here!

Elorie Carol Ward was born on 3/14 about 1:00 PM in Nebraska, weighing 6 lbs. 15 oz. Peter and Jewel are the happy parents and little Arianna is excited to see her baby sister. Everyone is doing fine.

Moving day in Hatacho and Ono

This is what our empty master bedroom looked like.  Had to take the drawers out of the big dresser
This room is near our new home in Ono.  It will be Henry's office with a piano to practice on.

The rental trkuck is up the street unloading stuff into Henry's room.

Loading the truck in Hatacho -this one and the next.

The master bedroom almost done.  On the other side of the big furniture is my sewing area.

Moving Date coming up

March 5 we will move into the house in Ono-shi.  Packing and sorting all the stuff  in our current home is a b i g  job.  😓

Here are some current photos of the basically finished rooms.

We took out the tatami mat floor in the living room area and inserted what was left of the insulation in the floor.

Henry put this beautiful dark plywood on the subfloor.   It could have been the main floor, but noone will see it  :-)  On top of this will be the main floor boards.  Photo coming.

The bathroom area with sink installed and carpets on the floor.

These new lights are in the bedroom downstairs.  It's an odd-shapped room with two windows and sliding glass doors opening to the street.

This is opposite the sliding doors where the bed will go.  The window area is at one end of the house where I will have my sewing space.

The toilet room door under the stairs.  To the left is the new sink.    More photos forthcoming.

Construction Progress

This is outside the bathtub to the left.  The sink will go here on the wall facing.

Henry was able to use the last of the wall panel board in this area.  Most of the piecing will be covered by the sink unit so it will look fine.

The new bathtub with rolled up cover on the floor.   Ready for the first customer.

Last week this wall was put up in the bedroom area.  Taping and mudding to do from here.

The Fox

This morning I heard the pheasant making noise so I looked out my window and I saw this fox in my neighbor's field.  It was a good size and was also looking for the bird when it made its honking noise.  It is the first time seeing a fox in our area.

Christmas and Birthday at Joe's house

The three sisters had a wonderful Christmas time opening gifts.

Christin and Willow

 The pink princess

The purple princess.

Matt came up for Willow's 2nd Birthday Party in January.  Below she is opening a big gift which turned out to be a basketball hoop.

Snow comes to Kobe

January 12 we had snow falling in the morning which accumulated about 1-2 inches and was about -4 C.  On our way to Ono I took some photos.

This next two photos are actually the frozen creek below our house in Hatacho.  I don't recall it ever freezing before.

Out the front door about 8:00 a.m.

Snow was on top of the water on this river in Ono City, about 20 minutes from where we will live.

These three are behind our house in Ono where our neighbor has a pit to burn debris.  It was still smoldering from Monday's burning so we added stuff to it like wood, some dried bamboo and the like.
