This critter was one a branch of our blackberry plant. As I was cutting the bushes back for the year, there it was. It's about 4 inches long, short and sparse hair; two black tufts near the head. Those sticks are part of the blackberry stem. I have no idea what this turns into.

It was on a blackberry stem and I cut it off and put it on the deck. Overnight the critter moved to the blue pole which is a butterfly net and has stayed there.

We took out the kitchen that was her and moved it upstairs. This is now a Restroom under the stairs

Saying goodbye

We took Teresa to the bus that goes to the Airport and said our goodbyes. Her flights are from Kansai to Korea, then to San Francisco, Finally getting to Houston at midnight Wednesday morning. It has been such a blessing to have her here this summer. She was a big help to us and the church by playing cello every service and doing the chalk art drawing for the children's meetings here and in Kato City. Teresa starts her 8th year teaching in Katy at the end of the month. :-)

Church Summer Festival

We had a kids' game day this morning. Four boys and their parents came. First we started with a curling games where they rolled a cup with a golf ball under it down the table to the target. Then there was a foam ball shooting target which was not that easy to knock over the various faces. Third was tossing a bean bag through a hole. Last was a Japanese water balloon game. It was very wet. Then Henry told the story of the three Hebrew guys thrown in the furnace while Teresa drew black-light chalk art of the story. She is really good, IMHO.

This water balloon game is not like any in the USA. The object is to pick up a rubberband string attached to a balloon using a hook with a paper string attached. If it gets wet, the hook can't catch the balloon.

You can just barely see the white outline of Jesus in the furnace with the three Hebrews (under the black light)

After these activities everyone had hot dog and chips for lunch. We had passed out 5,000 flyers last week for this event and no new kids came.
