Sakura in Ono 2021

This tree is taken over by vines and does not have the flowers as its neighbors .  These trees are across the tracks from the Aonagahara Station, about 2 minutes from our house.

Morning fog sometimes envlopes the area.  This is out our back door.  Normally you can see the far house and trees clearly.

Some photos of the new place in Ono Shi

This is the bedroom.  We put the dresser and the back of my desk at the far end to make a wall between my sewing area.  It's much smaller than the previous place, but do-able.

This is looking from the other end.  Closets are on either side of the steps.

More photos to be posted soon.

Morning fog in Ono

This fog was all over the Ono area where we live early in the morning--before 9:00 AM.  It was really beautiful.   As we drove past the rice fields you could see the mist rising from the ground--really awesome.

Granddaughter #5 is here!

Elorie Carol Ward was born on 3/14 about 1:00 PM in Nebraska, weighing 6 lbs. 15 oz. Peter and Jewel are the happy parents and little Arianna is excited to see her baby sister. Everyone is doing fine.

Moving day in Hatacho and Ono

This is what our empty master bedroom looked like.  Had to take the drawers out of the big dresser
This room is near our new home in Ono.  It will be Henry's office with a piano to practice on.

The rental trkuck is up the street unloading stuff into Henry's room.

Loading the truck in Hatacho -this one and the next.

The master bedroom almost done.  On the other side of the big furniture is my sewing area.

Moving Date coming up

March 5 we will move into the house in Ono-shi.  Packing and sorting all the stuff  in our current home is a b i g  job.  😓

Here are some current photos of the basically finished rooms.

We took out the tatami mat floor in the living room area and inserted what was left of the insulation in the floor.

Henry put this beautiful dark plywood on the subfloor.   It could have been the main floor, but noone will see it  :-)  On top of this will be the main floor boards.  Photo coming.

The bathroom area with sink installed and carpets on the floor.

These new lights are in the bedroom downstairs.  It's an odd-shapped room with two windows and sliding glass doors opening to the street.

This is opposite the sliding doors where the bed will go.  The window area is at one end of the house where I will have my sewing space.

The toilet room door under the stairs.  To the left is the new sink.    More photos forthcoming.
