We stayed at Henry's cousin"s, Sue, home for the day. They have a huge back yard, beautifully landscaped. Bird baths and feeders are numerous and the squirrels are always below the feeders catching the leftovers.
Sue, Sara and I went quilt shop hopping and saw this pink Edsel at the Hancocks store in Paducah. Still looks good. :-) We also went to Quilter's Alley and got a Row by Row pattern; the license plate will be sent later. I've no picture, but we also stopped by Eleanor Burns' Quilt in a Day shop and also got a pattern.
Across the street was a General Store that had some nifty stuff in it, plus hand-made food items like bags of soup ingredients, spices and you could get fresh-made sandwiches.
Then Sue took us by the river where a flood wall is erected. A local artist has painted murals of the history of Paducah on them. So much more pleasing than a plain cement wall.
In numerous places in our travels there are flags at half staff in honor of the Marines killed in Chattanooga.
We visited the Greater Vision Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY for Wednesday prayer meeting. We met Pastor Mattingly who is semi-retired and was at Shawnee Baptist in Louisville when we were on deputation. He recognized Henry right away, even after 25 years. His sermon was on the Trinity and he showed an illustration that best explains it. It comes from a stained glass window at the Louisville church.
God is in the center. God is the Father and God is the Son and God is the Holy Spirit. But The Father is not the Son or the Spirit. The Son is not the Father or the Spirit. The Spirit is not the Father or the Son. Think about it.
